ten small poems - x

abstract little metal squares
striving to hide a lovely pillar
how important must htey feel
protecting (or rather imprisoning)
the pillar without which
a utopia would collapse
their sad shadows tie the pillar in an attempt to depress it
but the pillar will not submit to their torture - not tonight, still

ten small poems - ix

thoughts, swirling around your head
retarded thoughts
delayed thoughts
thoughts that can make you think you were stupid back then

what if you now thought
about what you will think about now in the future?
would that make you think
would it make you not think at all?

how dreadful thoughts are
you only realise them after you've had them

ten small poems - viii

lauderdale place
the place to be
but only when
not thinking anymore
you suddenly write
about your thoughts
(or lauderdale place)

ten small poems - vii

earlier today
a crack on the wall was found dead
murdered, with cement
someone correcting it, said the police
(but who was he to judge?

and they all wrote of walls
and pillars and gates
-no one writes about mistakes
so, I'm sorry, crack
goodnight, and goodbye)

ten small poems - vi

once upon a time
a fairytale began
there was rain
(wet floor)
and a path
oh, and a gate
how glorious looked that gate
the path leading to an anti-kingdom of anti-man

the gate is unlocked
no walls surrounding it
yet no one has been through it
(I can tell)
their pride too big
their image too important
to fit through the gate
to leave their thoughts away

ten small poems - v

a chair that should not be seated
why not?
I don't know, it's just that I've never
sat there; maybe
I shouldn't
(maybe I should)
I'll never find out unless I don't sit

so I sat - I didn't want to find out.

ten small poems - iv

murray house
do you know where murray house is
it's just below an abstract building
and a wolf
I think it's above a reflection
(of a wet road?)
bike racks
then floor
but I've never seen
murray house.

have you?
